I embrace found objects, and in particular clay bricks. My practice involves moving through certain environments and finding pieces that have been discarded or left outside. I repurpose these found objects by displaying them as sculptural artworks. By doing this, these objects find new meaning as well as function. My interest in clay bricks has extended further into me physically making bricks out of clay. The clay used in these bricks has been sourced from my childhood home. Dug from the ground where I have spent the better part of my life playing and growing gives these objects a sentimental value and In turn these objects develop a more personal identity. I find the contrast between the discarded objects and  my home made bricks intriguing. Their separate origins create an interesting contrast however their familiar shape and form lend to a ‘oneness’ and congruency throughout. My practice is an investigation into this relationship.
