Bodies and Bones,  Wood Carving

Friday Jibu and Ledelle Moe

This course investigated the mechanisms and internal skeletons of animal and human forms. Beginning with an anatomically correct carving using soft non-indigenous wood, each student was then asked to interpret and carve a larger sculpture from indigenous fig wood.

Guest Malawian artist Friday Jibu co-taught the class to develop the conceptual and technical development of the work.
