Intersection

The aim of this project is to give voice to various perspectives on campus through a creative project that allows for both a place of contemplation and rest.

This project is a collaborative sculpture steered and created by a group of second year fine art students and invited participants on campus. The final work consists of a cast concrete sculpture with bronze cast plaques attached to the surface of the concrete. Each bronze plaque tells a different story and explains a unique point of view of each student/participant.

Collectively these stories create a space for open conversation and dialogue. The X shape is intended to represent cultural intersectionality and also a voting X.

This is an ongoing artwork, where many voices will be included. Please email what you wish to say and what you would like to have cast in bronze on the concrete X. (ledelle@sun.ac.za)
