“The image of a sun bleached grass field with carcasses of Eland is etched into my mind. At first glance this image is quite dreadful, however when I looked closer I noticed that different creatures have been feeding of these carcasses. In that moment I realised that the Eland didn’t disappear. It lives on within the landscape of the Kalahari fertilising the soil and feeding both omnivorous- and carnivorous animals.”
